Clubs

We are delighted that we are able to offer a range of after-school clubs run by both staff and outside providers. There is something for everyone, from football to art, to coding to gardening. Pupil voice is very important to us, and helps children to drive change at CJS. We have extensively analysed our club uptake data and also completed pupil surveys to help shape our offer for Autumn. Following this feedback, we now have a new selection of CJS staff clubs and also some new externally run clubs by sports coaches. We are carefully monitoring uptake and feedback to influence our Spring offer.

We do have a limited selection of subsidised spaces for some of the external clubs. If you are struggling to finance a paid club, please do contact Mrs Dawkins, Mrs Pinhorne or Mrs Moakes to discuss this further.

What our pupils think of the clubs we offer:

'I’ve enjoyed football club because of all the tournaments that we’ve participated in.'

'I enjoy football as I like challenging people and getting better at my sport.'

'I did enjoy it because dodgeball is my favourite sport.'

Netball  - It was enjoyable, fun, engaging and lots of exercise! It is varied every week.

Outdoors club -  It's interesting and its great to learn more about the outdoors. We have done planting pond dipping.

Gardening -  It's very active and fun. We've done lots and lots of weeding and planted new plants in the courtyard. We've also helped clean the pond.

Football - with Mr Murray - It's fun, creates good opportunities and is a place to form friendships.

Rock 2 the Beat - It's a fun experience which challenges you to reach an audience with your music.

Newspaper - It's a fun way to express yourself through writing.

Photography - We learned how to take photos, using zoom and focusing tools to help us take some great pictures.

What club will you want to try?
