Head Teacher's Welcome
Welcome to Clanfield Junior School – a place where every child is encouraged to be the best that they can be!
I am incredibly proud to be the Headteacher of Clanfield Junior School, a warm, inclusive and vibrant school where our children are truly at the heart of everything we do. We have worked hard to create a strong identity as a school family, where everyone is welcome, everyone brings value, and every child is known, loved and nurtured.
At Clanfield Junior School, we believe that every child should feel a deep sense of belonging from the moment they walk through our doors. Belonging isn’t just about being part of a school – it’s about feeling valued, respected and connected to a community that celebrates who you are. Inclusion sits at the heart of all we do. We are a needs-driven school, always curious and reflective, ensuring that each child is supported to thrive.

Personal development is a real strength of our school. We make purposeful decisions to enrich children’s lives through play, assemblies, family days, enrichment opportunities, visitors and trips. These experiences help children discover their passions, strengths and interests, while building confidence and independence. Our pupils’ high achievements, enthusiasm and love of learning make us incredibly proud, and our strong academic outcomes reflect their commitment to doing their best.

Children’s voices matter deeply to us. Our pupils know that we listen and that they help shape our school. We offer a wide range of volunteering roles, such as Rangers, Allergy Ambassadors, Cyber Ambassadors, Community Officers, Prefects, House Captains and School Councillors. These roles allow children to develop responsibility, leadership and a strong sense of contribution, while responding meaningfully to the needs of our school and wider community.
We are passionate about protecting childhood. We strongly believe that children should experience the joy and wonder of play throughout their school life. Set within beautiful grounds, our school provides countless opportunities for children to enjoy the benefits of nature and outdoor learning. Pupils explore our forest area, mud kitchen, courtyard and pond, build dens, play with friends and connect with the outdoors in ways that support wellbeing and learning. Our School Councillors play an important role in shaping social times, helping us build a fantastic range of lunchtime resources so there is truly something for everyone.
We value our links with the wider community and continue to re-establish ourselves as a proud, active part of it. We work closely with local schools, nurseries, parish councillors and community partners, listening and responding to the needs around us. Our families are also valued partners, and regular parent surveys help ensure your voices shape our journey too.
Our school values – Be Kind, Be Resilient, Be Respectful and Be Curious – underpin everything we do. They encourage children to aim high, enjoy learning and feel proud of who they are and what they achieve.
If you would like to learn more about our school, please don’t hesitate to contact our friendly school office — they will be happy to help. Visits from prospective parents are always warmly welcomed, and we would love the opportunity to show you first-hand what makes Clanfield Junior School such a special place to belong to.
We look forward to meeting you!
