Our exceptional stars

We have been inspired by Alan Knight and his acts of altruism, and this year we are excited to introduce our own Clanfield MBE Awards. This page celebrates children who have initiated something truly special and made a meaningful difference to our school family. It has been inspired by the kindness, courage, and thoughtfulness already shown by some of our pupils.

We know this is just the beginning, and we look forward to adding many more names as our children continue to step forward, make a difference, and shine.

Meet Eliza and Samuel!

2 children presentingWe are incredibly proud to celebrate two amazing children, Eliza and Samuel, who have been visiting classes across the school to share a brilliant presentation about Eliza’s invisible disability, Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis. They spoke confidently and openly, helping other children understand that disabilities and health conditions are not always visible — and encouraging everyone to feel brave about talking and sharing their own experiences.

This inspiring project was entirely Eliza’s idea, and together with Samuel, she showed outstanding confidence, courage, and determination. Their kindness and passion for helping others has already made a real difference to our school family. We are so proud of Eliza and Samuel — please take a look at Eliza’s presentation to find out more about their wonderful work!

Meet Eleanor!

Girl with medal and t shirtWe are always incredibly proud to celebrate the amazing achievements our pupils accomplish outside of school, and Eleanor has certainly wowed us! Last summer, she completed the 10km Cotswold Ultra Challenge during one of the heatwaves, tackling both the soaring temperatures and the challenging hills with determination.

Number 808 for a race

Out of 131 participants, Eleanor finished in an impressive 96th place with a fantastic time of 2 hours and 19 minutes – even running the final kilometre! Alongside her sister, Isobel, she raised an outstanding £390 for the World Wildlife Fund. Reflecting on her achievement, Eleanor said, “I should have trained more but collecting that medal kept me going – I cannot wait to do it again!” What an incredible accomplishment – well done, Eleanor!
