Junior Dukes

Here at CJS, we are excited to share that children now have the chance to take part in the Junior Duke Award.
The Junior Duke Award helps children build confidence, independence, and resilience through fun, practical challenges rather than academic work. With lots of different activities to try, children can feel proud of what they achieve and enjoy learning new life skills.
Challenges are matched to each age group and include things like learning first aid, preparing meals, building a fire, giving a presentation, learning to swim, and much more.
Children love reflecting on what they have learnt and sharing their new skills with teachers and families. Working towards completing their level keeps children motivated and helps create a strong sense of community as everyone encourages each other to do their best.
Here is an example of a challenge by George-

George has wowed staff with his high quality projects that are packed full of photos, ideas and family contributions. He has been very busy making Thai Stir fry and practising first aid for emergencies!
