Junior Road Safety Officers
Junior Road Safety Officers (JRSOs)
At Clanfield Junior School, we pride ourselves on promoting healthy, active lifestyles and teaching our whole school community how to stay safe at all times. Whether walking, cycling, or travelling by car, we all have a part to play in keeping each other safe on the roads around our school. Our fantastic Junior Road Safety Officers (JRSOs) play an important role in raising awareness of road safety across our school.
They work hard to plan and organise a range of exciting activities throughout the year, including:
-
Time to Shine Day, promoting visibility and safe clothing during darker months
-
Walk to School Week, encouraging active travel
-
Poster competitions, where pupils share creative safety messages
Park and Stride 🚗➡️🚶
To help reduce congestion and keep our community safe, we encourage families to use our Park and Stride site at Peel Park. By parking there and walking the rest of the way to school, we can:
-
Reduce traffic on East Meon Road and Little Hyden Lane
-
Improve safety for pedestrians and cyclists
-
Support healthy, active habits for our pupils
