Curriculum

At Clanfield, we aim to deliver a rich, diverse, and inspiring curriculum through which children can explore and deepen their understanding of the world around them. Our offer includes memorable trips, after-school clubs, outdoor learning, and experiences that celebrate childhood — because we believe school should be a place where curiosity, joy, and imagination are treasured every single day.

We’ve been busy re-crafting our curriculum so that it reflects our key aims:

  • For all children and adults to live and breathe our school values

  • For all children and adults to be the best that they can be

  • To maximise learning time for everyone

  • To ensure everyone gets precisely what they need to be successful learners

  • For all children to be ready for secondary school

By placing curiosity at the heart of everything we do, we help every child to belong, thrive, and grow into lifelong learners who approach the world with enthusiasm, empathy, and courage.

We are passionate about keeping the magic of childhood alive — seeing learning through a child’s eyes, filled with wonder, excitement, and possibility. Whether it’s discovering nature in our school grounds, exploring local history, or experimenting in science, we encourage children to ask questions, take risks, and find joy in every discovery.

Curiosity is more than just asking questions — it’s about developing the confidence to explore new ideas, solve problems, and think creatively. These curious habits of mind don’t stop at the classroom door; they prepare our pupils for secondary school, further education, and life beyond, helping them to adapt, innovate, and stay open to new perspectives.
