We are incredibly fortunate to have strong and positive partnerships with our local schools, and we truly value the opportunities these relationships provide for our children. Being part of our wider community is really important to us!

Our pupils regularly visit our main feeder school, Horndean Technology College, where they take part in exciting STEM activities and sports events. These experiences help build confidence, familiarity and enthusiasm for the next stage of their education. We have a fantastic working relationship with HTC staff and maintain close communication throughout the year, ensuring our transition package is supportive, consistent and carefully planned. 

One of our curriculum aims is to ensure all children are ready for year 7, both academically and personally. Our partnership with HTC helps us to achieve this goal, as they continue their educational journey onto KS3. 

Our children are also fortunate to take part in fantastic learning experiences at Churcher’s College, where they enjoy a wide variety of exciting activities. These opportunities allow pupils to explore new environments, develop confidence and experience specialist facilities that broaden their horizons.

We also work closely with Petersgate, Catherington and Horndean Infant Schools. Together, we have shaped our approach to Year 3, sharing knowledge and expertise so that children feel secure and ready when they join us. By creating additional transition opportunities, we help pupils become comfortable with new routines, expectations and environments before they even arrive.

We greatly value the expertise, dedication and caring approach of our partner schools. Through collaboration and shared understanding, we have built a united approach focused on one goal — helping every child thrive at CJS. These partnerships mean that when children join our school, they are not just arriving somewhere new… they are already part of the family.
